A Florida man drove his truck into a fireworks shop, causing a huge fire that destroyed the buildingthe authorities reported. The driver died in the incident.
The 53 year old driver had rear-ended another vehicle on Monday before crashing into the Phantom Fireworks store in West Melbournewhere fireworks ignited, setting off a series of explosions, Florida Today reported.
“It was unbelievable. I couldn’t believe how close people were as the fireworks kept going off,” one of the witnesses, Richard Griffin, told the newspaper. “There are fireworks that can go 100 yards when you throw them into the air. So you could see those and other fireworks going up in the air.”

The 5,500-square-foot store was destroyed, authorities said. Police did not release the name of the driver, but said they are continuing to investigate the incident.
West Melbourne is a community located on the Atlantic coast about 110 kilometers southeast of Orlando.
