This Saturday afternoon, several Championship matches were played on the England side. We will come back to 3 of them.
– Brentford – Bristol City : Reporté
Due to several cases of Coronavirus within the visitors’ workforce, the match between the 2nd in the championship and the 12th could not take place. No date has been set for the match.
– Rotherham United – Cardiff : Reporté
This time, it was the weather conditions that forced the 22 players not to play the match. Some snowfall occurred on the Rotherham side, preventing players from playing in good conditions. No postponement date has been decided at this time.
– Birmingham – Blackburn: Birmingham is not doing it at home
Blackburn, currently 15th in the Championship, moved to Birmingham for Matchday 23 of the Championship. At St Andrew’s Trillion Trophy Stadium, the locals haven’t been doing well for several games, making the season difficult for Birmingham.
The Birmingham players, however, enter the game well by being well organized, trying to build the game in order to create danger in the opposing camp. A lack of realism is to be noted on the side of the premises since several of their occasions did not succeed due to certain technical errors. The visitors try their luck in turn, with more success: on a counterattack, Harvey Elliott passes the ball well to Adam Armstrong who opens the scoring with his right foot (10 ‘, 0-1)! Birmingham kept the ball under their feet but failed to be dangerous. The minutes pass and the score stays there. In the second half, the technical errors of the premises allow Blackburn to get the ball out quite quickly. The visitors do not force and keep the score. In stoppage time, Bradley Dack got rid of the opposing defense and doubled the score for his team (92 ‘, 0-2)! The score will stay there.
After a complicated meeting, Birmingham sees the 3 points fly away in favor of Blackburn who goes back to 11th place.
