Football Twitter loved Nick Saban’s bomber jacket

Nick Saban showed up in Indianapolis for Monday’s college football playoff national championship game and made a catchy statement before opening his mouth. A fashion statement.

On Friday, the Alabama football coach – who already has an AP Poll record of seven national titles on his resume and is coaching his eighth against Georgia – stepped off the plane for Indy wearing a stylish leather jacket brown with a retro look.

Even though his jacket probably wasn’t the warmest – the Tuscaloosa News reported it was around 18 degrees when the flight landed – Saban looked fantastic in it. Naturally, college football fans loved it, and many predicted his post-flight look would result in a massive win over the Bulldogs and the Crimson Tide’s second straight national title.

And, according to Saban’s daughter Kristen Saban Setas on Instagram, the head coach has been wearing this jacket for 30 years.

So it turns out it’s actually an old-school look. And here’s how college football’s Twitter – and some players in Alabama – responded to it.

Some Alabama players praised Saban’s fashion as well.
