Former player “Salavat Yulaev” can become the head coach of “Boston”

53-year-old Canadian specialist Jim Montgomery may become head coach of the Boston Bruins, according to insider Elliot Friedman.

Previously, he only headed the NHL club once – it was the Dallas Stars in the 2018/2019 season, under his leadership the club reached the playoffs for the first time in three years, but at the beginning of the next season he was fired for “unprofessional behavior, inconsistent with the core values and beliefs of the club.”

In January 2020, Montgomery announced that he was in rehab to deal with his alcohol abuse. He reported that Dallas made the “right choice” in firing him and that it made him realize that he was living the wrong lifestyle.

Montgomery’s last job was with the St. Louis Blues (2020-2022), where he worked as an assistant coach.

Montgomery has 122 NHL games with St. Louis, Philadelphia, San Jose, and Dallas. In them, he scored 34 points (9 + 25). He also briefly played for Salavat Yulaev Ufa in the 2003/2004 season, for which he played 20 matches, scoring seven assists.
