A touching story changed a man’s life and inspired him to help others

Residents of the city of San Rafael (USA) have collected 46 thousand dollars for a homeless man who returned a lost wallet to an elderly woman, informs enovosty.com/news.

In December, Sean Kerry found the wallet in a dumpster outside a coffee shop and returned it to 80-year-old Evelyn Topper without touching the contents. The owner of the wallet said that she stopped by for tea for her 12-year-old granddaughter, put the wallet in her waistcoat pocket and forgot to button it. When she returned home, she found that her pocket was empty.

When Kerry made the woman happy with the find, her daughter and granddaughter launched a crowdfunding campaign as a thank you. The money was collected to help the man find housing and implement a construction project – mini-houses for the homeless of San Rafael. To date, the campaign has raised $ 46,000 and people continue to donate.

“Who knew returning the wallet to a stranger would inspire a new movement for those who strive to help themselves and others become better,” said Kerry.
