Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White announced that driver processing services will be progressively resumed beginning June 1.
Under the new plan, the secretary’s facilities will focus on serving new users and those with expired licenses or registrations, at least for the first two months.
Although all the offices will be reopened at the same time, there will be a difference regarding their hours, as some of them will offer extended service. Below is the list:
June 1st –
Offices with hours of Monday to Friday: Chicago North, Chicago South and Chicago West
- Hours of service are expanded from 7:30 am to 2 pm on Mondays, from 7:30 am to 6 pm from Tuesday to Friday, and from 7:30 am to 2 pm on Saturdays.
- Springfield-Dirksen Office: will operate Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm
June 2nd –
Offices serving Tuesday through Friday (Chicago suburban areas.
- Hours of operation are expanded from 7:30 am to 6 pm from Tuesday to Friday and from 7:30 am to 2 pm on Saturdays.
Offices serving Tuesday through Saturday (all located outside of the Chicago metropolitan area).
- They will operate from 8 am to 5:30 pm on Tuesdays, from 8 am to 5 pm from Wednesday to Friday and from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm on Saturdays.
July 1st –
The offices located at the James R. Thompson Center and Chicago Loop Express at 69 W. Washington will reopen on June 1, as the buildings will not be open to the public until that date.
