Infiniti QX60 new model, maximum traction is 2.7 tons … 295 horsepower V6 + 9-speed AT realized | Response (Response.jp)

On February 25, Nissan Motor’s overseas luxury car brand Infiniti released a photo of a new prototype of the new “QX60” (Infiniti QX60).

In December 2012, Infiniti introduced a new naming method and decided to add “Q” to the car name for all cars. In line with this, Infiniti “JX”, a 7-seater luxury crossover car, changed its name to QX60.

The current QX60 was world premiered at the New York Motor Show 2013 in the United States in the spring of 2013. What was announced this time is a photo of a new prototype of the new QX60. The commercial model will be released in North America in the latter half of 2021.

Combination of 3.5 liter V6 and ZF 9-speed AT

The powertrain will be equipped with a 3.5-liter V-6 gasoline engine. The maximum output draws 295hp. The transmission is combined with the newly developed ZF 9-speed AT. This aims to achieve the ideal balance of power, fuel economy, response and sophistication.

Extensive testing and tuning of the 3.5-liter V6 engine and 9-speed automatic transmission will provide the driver with a powerful yet relaxed ride.

The newly developed 9-speed AT has a larger gear ratio. As a result, users can achieve a highly responsive standing start performance. The 9-speed AT also has the effect of improving fuel efficiency on highways.

We take pride in improving performance and riding comfort by widening the gear ratio. The gear change of the new 9-speed AT is smooth, and Infiniti’s active torque mount shuts off engine vibration on the outside of the cabin, increasing quietness.

Can tow a camper with a total length of 6700 mm

The combination of this 3.5-liter V-6 gasoline engine and 9-speed AT enables powerful traction. In the United States, there are many customers who drive campers with SUVs, and SUVs, especially luxury SUVs, tend to emphasize traction.

The maximum traction force of the new model is about 2.7 tons. This is said to be sufficient performance to tow a trailer carrying a 6700 mm long camper “Airstream”, a bicycle, a small buggy vehicle, a personal watercraft, etc. Infiniti has verified high traction even under harsh conditions through rigorous testing at the Arizona Test Center in the United States.

Thousands of hours and hundreds of thousands of miles of rigorous testing across North America have also confirmed the increased traction of the new model. According to Infiniti, the new traction capacity has improved by up to 20% compared to the conventional model.

Infiniti’s original “double arch” grille adopted

The current QX60 is popular with families and is known for its spacious packaging and unique comfortable three-row seats. It is said that the new proportions reflect Infiniti’s desire to transform the model with a powerful silhouette with higher aerodynamic performance while retaining these strengths.

At the front, a “double arch” grill, which is synonymous with Infiniti, is used. Seen from the side, it features a powerful horizontal bonnet, powerful fenders and a long wheelbase. The gently sloping A-pillar and the gradually thinning teardrop-shaped glass house create a sleek, flowing contour. The high shoulder line is said to have the effect of raising the center of gravity.
