Pussy Riot member Maria Alekhina was charged with incitement to violate sanitary and epidemiological rights. Her lawyer Daniil Berman told reporters about this.

Maria was charged today by the investigator of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia. She does not plead guilty, considers the accusation far-fetched and absurd, — quotes Defender’s Interfax.

Berman added that Alekhina had given “small” testimonies to the investigation, but refused detailed comments.

According to the investigation, the girl instigated the violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules, which led to the threat of mass illness of people. We are talking about protests in Moscow on January 23 in support of opposition leader Alexei Navalny, after which the Pussy Riot member was detained and placed under house arrest.

In cases of violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules, Oleg Navalny and Lyubov Sobol were also detained and placed under house arrest. Maria Alekhina, among other things, was fined 30 thousand rubles for organizing an unauthorized public event.

As NEWS.ru reported, Lyubov Sobol, a lawyer of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK, included by the Ministry of Justice in the list of foreign agents), was summoned on February 4 to the Investigative Committee to be charged in the so-called sanitary case.
