Jair Bolsonaro hospitalized in Florida with an intestinal problem

BRAZIL – Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro confirmed on Monday January 9 that he was hospitalized in Orlando (Florida) for intestinal problems. “Yesterday I had a new grip”explained on Twitter and Instagram ex-right-wing leaderwho has suffered a succession of abdominal scares since the stabbing attack he suffered in September 2018, in the midst of the presidential election campaign.

Stabbed in the intestine by an individual apparently unbalanced during a walkabout, he had narrowly escaped death and the aftermath of this attack had enamelled his mandate. Tweeting a photo from his hospital bed in Orlando on Monday, he thanked his followers for their “prayers and their wishes for a speedy recovery”.

The news of Jair Bolsonaro’s hospitalization, confirmed a few hours earlier by his wife Michelle, has fallen the day after the assault, by thousands of his supportersthe Presidential Palace, the Congress and the Supreme Court of Brazil, in protest against his defeat in the 2022 presidential election facing left-wing candidate Lula.

Minimum sentence

This Monday was also marked by a resumption of control of the situation in the Brazilian capital, where camps of radicals who still reject the victory of Lula, more than two months after his election, were dismantled by the forces of the order, who also made at least 1,200 arrests.
