On April 15 of last year, Japan Airlines made its last scheduled flight between Tokyo-Narita and San Diego. Before the pandemic, the Japanese company had three weekly frequencies between both cities. Due to COVID-19, the airline was reducing the number of flights until finally in April they were canceled.
The company’s operations were carried out on Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners, with a capacity for 186 or 206 passengers, depending on the configuration of the aircraft.
Version 1: 186 places

- Economy Class: 156 seats.
Version 2: 206 places
- Business Class: 30 seats.
- Economy Class: 176 seats.
According to the reservation system, Japan Airlines will resume operations between Tokyo and San Diego from March 2. The flights will be in the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, as until last April.

As for other international destinations, San Diego currently has a connection with Cancun, Puerto Vallarta and San José del Cabo. All operations are carried out by Alaska Airlines, on Boeing 737-800 and Boeing 737-900.
