The UK de-escalation plan foresees that on May 17 restrictions on mobility will end. Although there are still three months to go until that date, the impact on the mood of travelers has been direct. Jet2.com, one of the most important airlines in the United Kingdom, has reported this morning that reservations to fly from that date have shot up 600% in just 24 hours. “We had been observing an increase in bookings for weeks now, but Monday’s announcement has generated great confidence among our customers and their desire for a getaway and a vacation after so many months of confinement. We will continue to wait for more details and, in the meantime, we will be close to our clients as during all this time ”, he stressed in a statement Jet2 CEO Steve Heapy.
Spain will be one of the most benefited destinations, as pointed out by Heapy, who stressed that the airline will not resume activity until May 17, so all the reservation change or return protocols will remain active as before. The airline plans to open its tenth base in Bristol this summer, from which it will operate flights to 10 Spanish airports. This airports will be added to the other nine that operate direct flights to 14 destinations in Spain (Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham, East Midlands, London-Stansted, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Belfast).
