Julio Cesar Martinez vs. McWilliams Arroyo added to Estrada-Chocolatito card

The Clash of Trilogy between Juan Francisco Estrada and Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez will take place at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona on Saturday, December 3, live worldwide on DAZN. Eddie Hearn and Matchroom are pleased to announce that Julio Cesar Martinez will meet McWilliams Arroyo for his WBC World Super-Flyweight title as the co-main event of a night of action in Arizona.

Estrada (43-3 28 KOs) and Chocolatito (51-3 41 KOs) will finally meet for the third time in their careers. Their last meeting was in March 2021, a Fight of the Year that Estrada won by split decision in Dallas. The win tied the two men after Chocolatito’s victory in their first fight in November 2012 in Los Angeles, and they will face off again for a third tantalizing fight, ten years after the first.

Martinez (18-2 14 KOs) and Arroyo (21-4 16 KOs) also renew their rivalry on Dec. 3, after their first firefight in November was unfortunately cut short after an accidental head clash caused a cut to Arroyo, ending a chaotic three-round whirlwind that saw both fighters hit the floor in the first session, and Arroyo visiting the deck again in the second.

Promoter Eddie Hearn thinks Matchroom’s final show of 2022 in the United States could be the most explosive yet, with Martinez and Arroyo as appetizers before the main event.

“What a night this is going to be,” Hearn said. “The trilogy fight between Estrada and Chocolatito is guaranteed to be a thriller, and Martinez and Arroyo gave us a taste of what they provide when they face off.

“Estrada and Chocolatito will go down in history as one of the sport’s greatest rivalries. On December 3, one of these two modern big names will get ahead of the other, which promises to make this fight the most thrilling of the three: it’s an early Christmas present for fighting fans. , Do not miss. »
