The quarterback of the Arizona CardinalsKyler Murray, has reached an agreement to extend his bond until the 2028 season with the franchise ‘The Big Red’.
After months of intrigue in negotiating the young talent with the team, both sides agreed to a contract extension, tying the Oklahoma alumnus to the Cardinals for five more years.
According to media reports close to the team, the contract is worth 230.5 million dollars, with only 160 being guaranteed. On average, this new contract is the second highest in the NFL, at $46.1 million per season, behind veteran Aaron Rodgers, whose tie with Green Bay is valued at $50.3 million per year.
American football stars like Deshaun Watson, who earns 46 million and the ‘Wonder Boy’, Patrick Mahomes has a contract for 45 million, falling behind Murray.
The 24-year-old was entering his last year as a rookie, in which he was only going to be paid 11 million, which is why the quarterback made it clear that he would not show up for 2022 until the team guaranteed his future with a new agreement, he even got to eliminate all the content he had on his social networks that related him to ‘The cards’, as a sign of discomfort in the negotiations, however, with this news, the rumors that placed him out of the franchise.
Although he has a short career, the American already has a recognized career, since in 2019 he won the Rookie of the Year award, he also has two Pro Bowl selections.
