Legendary Butthole Surfers & Melvins Bassist Joins Abstract Artimus On New Single

Abstract Artimus premieres a new single recorded in confinement with the great J.D. Pinkus of Butthole Surfers, Melvins Y Honky. “Methuselah’s Rhyme” was recorded at their respective home studios and has been mastered by renowned engineer Sean Magee at the studios. Abbey Road From london. The song conjures up southern rhythms and psychedelic elements sometimes reminiscent of Acid Bath or the first Queens Of The Stone Age. Powerful and direct verses are complemented by the epic lead of the chorus as the bass thrashes and claims its ground in the final mix. The lyrics reflect on how insignificant the human being is in the immensity of the universe, exclaiming “we are the victim of time, we are the prose in the Rima de Methuselah.” The single will be released live on March 26 via AbstractArtimus.com and it will premiere globally on April 2 digitally.

Abstract Artimus is an American artist from Alabama whose electrifying shows and memorable guitar riffs have earned him a great reputation after several years of touring and record releases. His father was the drummer of the Jimmie Van Zant Band (first by Ronnie Van Zant by Lynyrd Skynyrd), which caused Artimus to mature musically very early, under the wing of some of the most prolific teachers in the history of Southern Rock. His first years of career take place between wild house parties arriving to perform at the University of Alabama where a mob of aroused students destroyed the auditorium during the performance: Artimus was expelled from the campus accused of having caused a riot. Since then he has tirelessly toured Europe, North and South America, sharing the bill with Gwar, The Dictators, Cheetah Chrome, Arizona Baby, Angel Stanich, Eyehategod, Scott Ian’s Motor Sister and many more.
