Believing that people deserve authentic, fresh olive oil, Cedargren opened The Spicy Olive in West Chester on 8th September 2012. Spicy Olive Oil, as the name suggests, is all about products from the oil of the ‘olive. 25 different flavors of olive oil are sold, including butter, garlic, tuscan grass, and blood orange. The products are made with olive oils sourced from all over the world, from Portugal and Spain to Australia. To ensure they deliver the best olive oil available, warm-hemisphere harvested olives change every six months following the olive oil harvest patterns.

In October and November, the olive oil comes from the northern hemisphere. In April and May, the southern hemisphere harvests its olives.

In addition to olive oil, The Spicy Olive sells olive oil-based skin and hair care products, including hand creams, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and face moisturizer. By incorporating olive oil into the products, Cedargren ensures that the products are full of agents that affect health and high humidity.

Like many companies, The Spicy Olive has been hit by recent supply chain issues and therefore hasn’t been able to sell skin and hair care products, but now it’s back in stock.

Spicy Olive has branched out from olive oil products into other projects, such as 45 flavors of balsamic vinegar. Imported from Modena, Italy and aged 12-18, all flavors are gluten-free and contain no added sugar, thickeners or caramel colouring. West Chester Tuap spiced olives. The site has a wine section with wines from around the world.

Spicy Olive has since branched out to two other locations, in Montgomery and Oakwood. They have hosted cooking classes on these sites, and although they are suspended due to the coronavirus, they will return in 2023. There are many recipes on the site, thespicyolive.com.

The Spicy Olive also hosts wine tastings every Friday from 4-7pm at its West Chester location.

West Chester’s Spicy Olive is located at 7671 Cox Lane. The Montgomery store is located at 9901 Montgomery Road and the Oakwood store is located at 2510 Far Hills Drive.
