Love and Thunder” surprises for one reason

The age rating of Thor: Love and Thunder is surprising for one reason

Like almost every movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Thor: Love and Thunder will be rated PG-13 when it hits theaters next month.

The Motion Picture Association recently gave a rating that includes an unexpected explanation for it. According to the rating agency, “Love and Thunder” rated PG-13 for sci-fi violence and action sequences, vulgarity, some suggestive material, and partial nudity.

This partial nudity is, of course, most likely due to Thora (Chris Hemsworth) accidentally undressing Zeus (Russell Crowe), which we see in the movie’s trailer.

Hemsworth recently praised Crowe’s performance in the film, comparing it to his performance in the Oscar-winning Gladiator, which is only slightly deconstructed and “self-deprecating.”

I never thought the day would come when Russell would appear on screen with allusions to Gladiator imagery but with a total self-deprecating wink. He didn’t hold back. I am his fan. And meeting him… he has a great sense of humor and did everything Taika asked. [Вайтити] on set, which was mind blowing. And it was a lot of fun to play with the mythology, going from Scandinavian to Greek – Taika brings all these worlds together.

Thor: Love and Thunder releases in theaters July 8, 2022.
