Are you considering getting a new MacBook Air? If so, you might want to hold back a bit because, according to a recent MacRumors report, you’ve heard from a source that an update to the laptop could arrive as early as next week, at least another week, so doing so could be a good idea.
At this point it is unclear what changes we can expect from the update. However, it would probably be a safe assumption that an update in processors is likely in the cards. Another possible change is that Apple could finally introduce the new scissor switch keyboard in the MacBook Air. It is the second laptop in the Apple product range to receive the new switch that was introduced in the 16-inch MacBook Pro last year.
Currently, the current MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pros still use the older butterfly mechanism. While Apple announced the bottom profile of the butterfly switches, the way they were designed created many problems. The company has tried to improve the design over the years before finally changing it and resorting to the scissor switch design found on older MacBook laptops.
Take this with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully there will be an official announcement next week. So check us out for more updates.
