Man shot in parking lot in Groton – NBC New England

A man is recovering after being shot in a parking lot in the Connecticut town of Groton on Sunday morning.

Groton City Police officers were called to Bridge Street in the early hours of the morning after receiving a report of a gunshot victim.

When police arrived, they said they learned that a man was shot in the parking lot and that everyone else had left the scene before officers arrived.

According to police, the man was found at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital with a single gunshot wound to the back of his body that was not life threatening. He underwent surgery and is expected to make a full recovery, the researchers added.

Police believe the shooting is an isolated incident. The investigation is ongoing.
