Marco Rossi can not prevent Iowa defeat despite goal

Marco Rossi scored in his fourth straight game for the Iowa Wild but couldn’t prevent the Minnesota Wild’s 5-2 AHL farm team loss at the Chicago Wolves.

After the Vorarlberger missed the last two games before the turn of the year against the Colorado Eagles (2: 1, 5: 3) due to illness, he is back in the lineup for the first game in 2023.

However, the hosts managed a double strike in the first half in the form of Pashin (7th) and Suzuki (9th). After the beginning of the second third, Rossi (27th) is responsible for the goal, deflecting a Hicketts blueliner into the net. It is his fourth goal of the season and 13th scoring point in 13th AHL game.

However, Gunler (35./PP) restores the Wolves’ old lead, seven seconds after the start of the final section Perlini (41.) gives the Wild a cold shower. Walker (53./PP) creates some tension again, but Melnick (58./SH/EN) makes everything clear with his empty netter outnumbered.

In the AHL’s Central Division, Iowa is stuck in fifth place with 30 points, with the Wolves four points behind in sixth.
