Massachusetts is launching a digital immunization card system, the Baker administration announced Monday.
My Vax Records, as the tool is called, allows people to view their vaccination history and get a card that is similar to the paper CDC cards that are given out when people get vaccinated.
The announcement of the tool does not mean that there is a vaccination mandate in Massachusetts. The Baker administration doesn’t require anyone to show their My Vax records to get into any place, the tool is simply there to help residents who want to show their vaccination history, officials say.
Website users can enter their information and can expect to get a response within a day, officials say. When it’s ready, they’ll receive a text message with a link to their record and a smart health card, complete with a QR code that can be saved to apps like Apple Wallet or by taking a screenshot.
