At the Cubs spring training there are two Mexican players looking for a spot on Chicago’s ninth roster.. Manuel Rodriguez Y Juan Gamez, are the two Mexican pitchers who are in search of fulfilling their dream of debuting in the Major Leagues with the Chicago organization.
En el Spring Training de Chicago Cubs that is taking place in Mesa, Arizona, the two Mexican pitchers looking to reach MLB are working. On the one hand, Manuel Rodriguez he’s part of the Cubs’ 40-man roster. While, Juan Gamez, has a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Mexicans looking for a place with Chicago Cubs
Manuel Rodriguez (RHP): Originally from Mérida, Yucatán, the right-handed reliever is part of the 40-player roster of Chicago Cubs in the majors. For three seasons in the system Minor leagues, “El Bolón” has a negative 5-8 record, a 5.00 ERA and has made seven saves.

Juan Gámez (RHP)Although he was born in Tucson, Arizona, the player has Mexican descent. The right-handed reliever has three seasons of experience in the Minor League system when he belonged to Minnesota Twins. In December 2019, the pitcher signed a minor league contract with the Chicago organization.
