The Boston Red Sox have claimed pitcher Joel Payamps from the Toronto Blue Jays on waivers.

Payamps has appeared in four games in the past two seasons with the Arizona Diamonbacks.

The 26-year-old gunner pitched seven innings in the major leagues, allowing three earned runs and five strikeouts.

Payamps made 15 starts in 2019 at the AA and AAA level in the Dbacks organization. He tallied 5-6 with a 3.89 ERA in 78.2 innings.

The Red Sox originally claimed him on waivers from Arizona in November.
