Mother is charged in the death of her 3-year-old girl

The Montgomery County jury indicted Danshell Sade Jamillah Evon, 36, with charges stemming from a fatal collision that occurred on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Connecticut Avenue and Atherton Drive.

Investigation by the Montgomery County Police Department – ​​Collision Reconstruction Unit revealed Evon, of Bryans Road, MD, speeding on Southbound Connecticut Avenue, before colliding with a 1997 Ford F-150 , towing a utility trailer. The driver of the Ford was attempting to make a left turn from Atherton Drive onto northbound Connecticut Avenue. Both occupants of the Ford sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the collision, as did two 13-year-old boys who were riding in the Kia. Evon’s three-year-old daughter, Dreamie Dior Jackson, died as a result of injuries sustained in the collision.

Evon was charged with several charges, including manslaughter by vehicle, child abuse, child neglect, and second degree assault. Evon was arrested on Friday, November 18 and has been released on bail pending trial.
