NFL: Kyler Murray signs monster contract from Arizona Cardinals – US-SPORT NFL FOOTBALL

Payday for Kyler Murray (24)!

The Arizona Cardinals quarterback has now extended his contract by five years, until 2028, the NFL club announced.

The Cardinals don’t name a total – but ESPN and NFL Network do! Accordingly, Murray earned a total of 230.5 million dollars (the equivalent of more than 226 million euros) with the contract extension.

Makes more than 45 million euros per year! Only one NFL player has a higher annual salary than Murray: It’s Aaron Rodgers (38), quarterback for the Green Bay Packers.

According to reports, Murray is guaranteed almost 157 million euros of all the coal. A fat contract for the quarterback!

Murray has been playing in the NFL since 2019 and has given up a career as a baseball player in the MLB. The Cardinals brought in the quarterback even though he’s only 5’7. Many experts doubted that he would be able to assert himself in the NFL due to his small height.

But that’s exactly what Murray has! And turned his supposed weakness into a strength. Because the Cardinals superstar is incredibly agile and can run with the ball himself at any time.

Last season, Murray threw 24 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, completing nearly 70 percent of his passes. His accuracy puts him among the top quarterbacks in the league.

Murray transfer rumors

According to ESPN, the contract negotiations took months. Murray himself fueled transfer rumors when he deleted all references to the Cardinals from his social media profiles.

Now it is clear: the Cardinals plan long-term with Murray as quarterback! With DeAndre Hopkins, Marquise Brown and Zach Ertz, the superstar has several good pass receivers at his disposal.

The Cardinals are definitely a contender for the playoffs. In their division, however, are also the strong Los Angeles Rams, (acting Super Bowl winner).
