NHL: Losses for Arizona, Chicago and Nashville

The Arizona Coyotes lost 2-1 away to the Minnesota Wild. The Chicago Blackhawks lost 5-8 at home to the Seattle Kranken. The Nashville Predators lost 3-5 at home to the Buffalo Sabers.

A disastrous six-goal opening third cost Chicago a home loss to Seattle. Jonathan Toews equalized to make it 1-1 after five minutes, but then Seattle scored five goals between the 10th and 14th minutes.

Philipp Kurashev received 12:51 ice time, dealt two checks and ended the game with a minus – 2 – record.

After a goalless third, Minnesota took the lead at halftime thanks to a manpowered Mats Zuccarello, and 51 seconds later Fredrick Gaudreau made it 2-0. Lawson Crouse reduced the lead to 1:2 in the 46th minute.

Janis Moser received 18:33 ice time, had two shots on goal, distributed two checks, blocked a shot and ended the game with a neutral record.

After 16 minutes, Roman Josi equalized to make it 1-1, his eleventh goal of the season. In the middle third Buffalo took a 1:3 lead thanks to Dylan Cozens (23rd) and Viktor Olofsson (29th PP). Thanks to two goals within 40 seconds in the 36th minute by Jeremy Lauzon and Ryan Johansen, Nashville equalized to 3:3. In the 47th minute, Nashville was outnumbered, but it was Kyle Okposo who scored with a deflection to make it 3-4. When Nashville played without a goalie, Jack Quinn scored an empty goal to make it 3-5. This is Nashville’s third loss in a row.

Nino Niederreiter received 19:19 ice time, shot five times on goal, distributed two checks, blocked a shot and ended the game with a minus – 1 – record.

Roman Josi received the most ice time of all field players with 26:31, received a penalty in the middle third, had the most shots on goal of all field players with eight, distributed four checks and left the ice with a minus – 3 balance sheet.
