(CercleFinance.com) – Nokia has announced the signing of an FTTH agreement (i.e. relating to the installation of fiber to the home) with Wire 3, a Florida-based operator which is deploying a 10 Gb/second network along Florida’s Atlantic coast from Jacksonville to Miami.
The agreement includes fiber access nodes, fiber modems for customers’ homes, service routers, Wi-Fi gateways and an Altiplano broadband network controller from Nokia.
‘We are focused on growth and aim to reach 15,000 homes per month,’ explains Jason Schreiber, Chief Technology Officer at Wire 3. ‘We are using Nokia’s Altiplano platform which will be our primary OSS platform and all other systems will integrate and work through it,’ he adds.
Ed Cholerton, President of Nokia North America, says Wire 3 will be able to bring Florida residents market-leading broadband speeds, with 25G PON support over the same fiber, ‘so Wire 3 can be sure that it will always be able to deliver the fastest speeds’.
