The 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, has tested positive for the coronavirus. The disease is mild.
“Just got a positive covid test result. I’ve had a scratchy throat for a few days, but otherwise feel good,” Mr. Obama wrote on Twitter. His wife Michelle has tested negative for coronavirus. They both got revaccinated.
Barack Obama was President of the United States from 2009-2017. Prior to that, he was a US Senator from Illinois. In 2009, he received the Nobel Peace Prize for “extraordinary efforts in strengthening international diplomacy and cooperation between people.”
