He will also participate in the High Level Panel of Agricultural Leaders of the Governments of North America, together with the Secretary of Agriculture of the United States and virtually the Canadian Minister of Agriculture Marie-Claude Bibeau.
This work tour includes a meeting with the members of the North American Agricultural Extension Network, where they will exchange technical, innovation, cooperation and agro-commercial experiences.
Among the topics in the meeting with Secretary Vilsak are also those related to scientific policies and regulations and biotechnology, agricultural innovation for the climate, reported Sader.
In this tour that began on Tuesday the 19th and will end on the 22nd of this year, the Minister of Agriculture will touch on the issue of bilateral collaboration in the case of African swine fever, to carry out appropriate joint actions to prevent its entry into the continental territory.
It was recalled that Mexico proposed that experts from both countries work in coordination on trials and protocols and hold technical meetings at the binational and regional levels. Also establish protection and containment zones and pool technical and financial resources to work together in the development of a vaccine against African swine fever.
Another issue is the current situation of the National Campaign against Bovine Tuberculosis in Mexico, in relation to certification criteria of the Aphis-USDA classification, after in recent April, our country began a state strategic planning process in 14 federal entities, with a view to eradicating this disease and complying with the regionalization procedure.

And he will participate in the 2021 World Food Prize ceremony, which is known as the Nobel Prize for Food and Agriculture, the most prestigious recognition. It was created in 1986 by the Nobel Peace Prize winner, Norman E. Bourlog, initiator of the Green Revolution.
