Otto Porter still hasn’t recovered from his foot injury

We quickly mentioned it with you last night in our recap of the day, Otto Porter’s situation with respect to his foot injury is not improving at the moment. It was Nick Nurse who brought the information to the press conference, not indicating a return period for the main summer recruit of the Raptors. Ouch…

Otto Porter Jr’s start to the season is far, far from being a long calm river. After his first NBA title with the Warriors last June, the winger joined Ontario and the cold latitudes of Canada to take advantage of his status as a coronation craftsman. Unfortunately, nothing went as planned: thigh discomfort during training camp and preseason, then personal issues that sidelined him at the start of regular play. His first match, with all that? On November 3, against Spurs.

Eight games followed, before a dislocated toe during the match against the Pistons once again prevented him from taking part in the Dinos campaign. It is therefore since November 15 that Porter has been in the infirmary. Questioned yesterday by Michael Grange, journalist for sportsnet.ca, Nick Nurse confirmed that there was – to date – no improvement in Otto’s boo.

Signed for 12.4 million over two years by Raptors eager to find in him a role player with the experience of the Playoffs, Otto Porter has for the moment been able to bring almost nothing to the group of Nurse. Reminder of his averages? 5.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1 assist on average… in just eight games. For a player already embarrassed at the level of the feet in his career (last NBA finals, but also in 2019), this new glitch is very unwelcome. All that remains is to wish him a speedy recovery, for him as for the Raptors.
