Mexico June 29._ The World Grand Prix de Futbol IBSA Puebla 2022, which will take place from August 1 to 7, in the capital of Puebla, will go down in history as it is the first time that this fair is held in America. It will grant a direct ticket to the Birmingham 2023 World Championship, which will take place in England.
“Mexico is the proud host of the Grand Prix, this contest that for the first time reaches the American continent and will undoubtedly be an event in which our national team will have very profitable results. In addition to the fact that it will provide the opportunity to classify (ophthalmologically) several athletes and that is very important for us”, Mónica Fontes Chávez, director of High Performance of the National Commission of Physical Culture and Sports (CONADE), highlighted at a press conference.
Yadira Lira, general director of the Poblano Sports Institute (INPODE), said that this event can be held thanks to the support of the governor of Puebla, Miguel Barbosa, and the combined efforts of CONADE, the Mexican Federation of Sports for the Blind and Visually Impaired (FEMEDECIDEVI) and the Mexican Paralympic Committee (COPAME), among others.

“I want to emphasize that our beautiful state of Puebla is prepared to receive this type of international event, since we have the necessary infrastructure, we are very proud that soccer players from Puebla are part of this Mexican team, that they will represent us in this event and I am sure they will put the name of Mexico at the top”, she said.
María Trinidad González, technical secretary of CONADE, highlighted and thanked the members of the national team for their courage and determination, “to put the name of Mexico on high, for that example to follow that you are and the state government that opens those doors, that has those facilities and has been concerned about giving them that opportunity to have these events that fill us with great satisfaction as a country”.
On his occasion, Efraín Mora, president of FEMEDECIDEVI, thanked the CONADE and to the government authorities of Puebla for their support in making this world event a reality and highlighted that Puebla has the first official soccer field for the blind in the country, known as “La Madriguera”.
