Residents who wish to apply for a new passport or renew their current passport can do so at State House Square in Hartford today, Wednesday, January 11.

US Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) will host a Passport Day with the Connecticut Passport Agency to help people with passport renewals and first-time applications.

HARTFORD, CT –

The event is open to the public and will take place at 90 State House Square in Hartford on Wednesday, January 11 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

First-time applicants will be required to complete a passport application form and present a valid photo ID and an original birth or naturalization certificate. Participants will have the opportunity to have a passport photo taken at the venue.

For passport renewals, a completed Passport Application Form, an old passport, and a recent passport photo will be required, along with the passport renewal fee. Validity and fees for first time applicants and passport renewals are as follows:

US Passport Book . USA: Valid for international travel by air, sea and land.

  • Validity : 10 years for adults (over 16 years old); 5 years for minors (under 16 years old)
  • Cost for first time applicants : $165 for adults (ages 16 and over); $135 for minors (under 16 years old)
  • Cost for renewal applicants : $130 for adults (over 16 years old)

US passport card .: Valid when entering the US from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda at land or sea ports of entry. Not valid for international air travel.

  • Validity : 10 years for adults (over 16 years old); 5 years for minors (under 16 years old)
  • Cost for first time applicants : $65 for adults (ages 16 and over); $50 for minors (under 16 years old)
