Season 2 of Mayor of Kingstown on Paramount+

While the main actor Jeremy Renner is still in the hospital after a serious accident, the US version of the streamer Paramount+ is starting the second season of its Mayor of Kingstown series.

The second season of Mayor of Kingstown launches this Sunday, January 15th at the American Paramount+. As behind many Paramount productions, Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone) is behind it, this time with support from Hugh Dillon.

Renner plays in “Mayor of Kingstown‘ Mayor Mike McLusky of Kingstown, Michigan. In the tranquil town, the private prison business is the most important branch of the economy. The city depends on prisons and their inmates. The focus is on the McClusky family, who mediate between the police, politicians, inmates, criminals and the supervisors. Chandler stars as Mitch McLusky, Mike’s older brother, who makes his living as a fixer or problem solver.

Also in the ensemble: Pha’rez Lass, Tobi Bamtefa, Emma Laird, Derek Webster, Taylor Handley and the two-time Academy Award winner Dianne Wiest. Co-creator Dillon also has a supporting role. Also included: Aiden Gillen (Game of Thrones) as Milo Sauner, the leader of the Russian mob who is currently serving a life sentence in Kingstown Maximum Security Prison. Hamish Allan-Headley plays the SWAT-Captain Robert.

The production companies are MTV Entertainment Studios, Bosque Ranch Productions and 101 Studios.

The ten-episode debut season ran from November 2021 to January 2022 and ended in a prison riot that will have a major impact on season two. A parallel broadcast in Germany has not yet been announced, so the new season will probably only go online later.
