Selective BC Hockey will compete in Arizona tournament

MEXICALI.- Baja California hockey will compete with two teams, men’s and women’s, in the Open category, at the Five Rivers Field Hockey Tournament 2023 in Glendale, Arizona, this weekend.

In the process of preparing for the CONADE 2023 Nationals, the Baja California State Field Hockey Association formed a couple of teams with talents from the Under 18 and Under 21 categories, to compete in the invitational tournament in Arizona to which they will also be given quotes teams from Canada.

Baja California in the men’s branch will be represented by Sebastián Sandoval, Óscar Copado, Xavier Ortiz, Óscar Ramírez, Néstor Hernández, David Terminel, Paul Díaz, Bryan Ibarra, Isidro Santillán, Carlos Estrella and Daniel Pelayo.

Andrea Burciaga, coach of Baja California, indicated that in the women’s branch they will play with Mariel Pereyda, Angela Ríos, Marisol Rojas, Ana Isiordia, Valentina Way, Dafne Irigoyen, Carla Ramírez, Fernanda Páez, Daniela Orozco, Alexandra Benedith, Rebeca Copado, Aletza Peña and Mayra Lacheño.

The Institute of Sport and Physical Culture of Baja California provided support for the transfer of the selective, since once their participation is over they will return to the concentrations, seeking to have the greatest possible blank for the national fair to be held in Tabasco, Nayarit, Jalisco, Aguascalientes or Morelos this year.
