What happened? A horde of boys stormed the gymnastics competition between Dunnes Louisiana State University and Utah. Already in front of the hall they were yelling: “Give us Livvy!” and “We want her!”. Even during the competition, the fans did not calm down. Everywhere you saw “Livvy” posters. A fan even had a cardboard cutout from the 20-year-old.
Gymnast Samantha Pezsek, a silver medalist in Beijing in 2008 and now a presenter, shared video of what she saw upon exiting the hall in Salt Lake City. She called the way fans cheered Dunne “very scary and disturbing”.

Which: The 20-year-old wasn’t even on the starting grid for the competition!
The fans didn’t stop at Dunne’s teammates either. One mother angrily recounts: “As we walked to the car, the group of boys swarmed around my daughter and her teammate. They literally said to their face: You are not Livvy but you will make it, can we take a picture. The group also called my daughter Livvy 2.0. They were so rude and disrespectful.”

The police must intervene
It was even reported that officials were forced to move Dunne’s squad bus to avoid the rampaging crowd.
The police were also called to bring the athletes to safety.
Olivia responds to the incident! So she asked her fans on Twitter to be “respectful”. She wrote: “I will always appreciate your support but when you come to a competition I would ask you to respect the other gymnasts and the gymnastics community as we are just doing our job.”
Who is Olivia Dunne?
Who is the hyped Tiktokerin anyway? She has loved gymnastics since she was 3 years old. Dunne competed for years and was eventually named to the US national team in 2017. In 2020, however, the American left elite sport and transferred to Louisiana State University to instead do gymnastics at the collegiate level.
In the meantime, however, she is not only known as a gymnast, but also as a celebrated social media star. She has now accumulated almost seven million followers on TikTok.
Remarkable: Dunne is now one of the absolute top earners in college sports, with a reported net worth of $ 2.3 million (about 2.1 million euros). She owes that to her gymnastics and the many lucrative sponsorship deals she has landed.
