Solotech Expands to the United States | The Journal of Montreal

Montreal-based Solotech plans to acquire Morris Light & Sound, located in Nashville, United States.

This American company, launched nearly 30 years ago, made a name for itself by organizing tours for the country music group Alabama.

“The Morris Light & Sound and InteRise brands will be solid additions to the Solotech family. They will perfectly complement our business objectives in addition to helping to increase Solotech’s footprint in the United States. With this acquisition, Solotech’s increased reach as a leader in audiovisual and entertainment technologies will strengthen our position as an industry innovator, ”said Martin Tremblay, President and CEO of Solotech, in a press release Tuesday.

The Quebec company hopes to generate synergies with this acquisition by sharing customers or the expertise of the two entities.

“The Morris name has a solid reputation throughout the music industry and we respect the brand,” said Mickey Curbishley, President, Events Solutions, US & UK, Solotech.

“Solotech will be proud to join our two companies with the common philosophy of providing exceptional services and solutions to our customers,” he added.

The purchase price was not disclosed.

Solotech has already worked for mega music stars like Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones, as well as with well-known American establishments such as the Colosseum at Caesar Palace in Las Vegas and the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. .
