Stolen Car Crashes into METRORail in Attempted Getaway – NBC Houston

HOUSTON – A man was arrested Tuesday night on charges of driving a stolen car during a police chase that ended with the derailment of a METRORail train.

According to the Police Department, the suspect was driving through North Shepherd when he was spotted by a Houston PD patrol officer who ordered him to stop.

As the officer approached the patrol car, the suspect started the vehicle and fled. The man managed to miss the officers.

However, shortly thereafter, he lost control while driving off the I-45 exit at Quitman, ran a red light and crashed into a METRORail train.

These were the winning numbers for the draw on January 10, 2023.

The strong impact led to the train leaving the rails and ending up occupying all the railway lines.

At the time of the incident, there were four travelers inside the train, who suffered minor injuries and were treated by emergency teams at the scene.

The suspect was arrested and, according to Houston PD, had three previous charges of evading authorities and there was narcotics in the car. The man had an outstanding warrant for his arrest in Montgomery County for possession of marijuana.
