The interim champion of the Bellator bantamweight division, the American Raufeon Stots, will face the world ranked number six of the 135-pound division in Bellator, the also American Danny Sabatello, the fight will be the main clash of the Bellator card 289, which will take place this Friday, December 9 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in the city of Uncasville in Connecticut.
The fight, which is promoted by Bellator, will be televised on Showtime.
Stots, who is known as ‘Supa’ and is 33 years old, enters the fight with an 18-1 record with 4 knockouts and 4 submissions, stopping the scale at the 134.4 pound mark. Sabatello, who is known as ‘The Italian Gangster’ and is 29 years old, enters the fight with a record of 13-1 with 3 knockouts and 4 submissions, stopping the scale at the 135 pound mark. Let’s remember that the Bellator bantamweight division limit is 135 pounds.
The Bellator 289 card will have as co-main event the American Liz Carmouche exposing her Bellator women’s flyweight title against the Brazilian Juliana Velasquez, while the American Patchy Mix and the Russian Magomed Magomedov will meet in the semifinal of the Bellator Bantamweight World Grand Prix Tournament because it rewards the winner of the final with a million dollars and the opportunity to fight for the world title.
