MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD – Authorities have confirmed they have under arrest the suspect in the shooting of a student at a Montgomery County high school on Friday.
The 17-year-old gunman was arrested around 3 pm in one of the classrooms on the school campus.
The police announced that a firearm was recovered from the classroom where they found the person responsible for this shooting.
At around 12:40 pm, police units were mobilized to Col. Zadok Magruder High School, located at 5939 Muncaster Mill Rd., due to the report of a shooting.
A student was found unconscious inside one of the bathrooms in the school building. Authorities reported that the victim had critical injuries and was taken to a hospital.
Montgomery County authorities announced through a press conference that the victim had to undergo surgery and his condition continues to be critical.
The school campus was placed under lockdown during the investigation.
High school students had to remain in the building until around 5:30 pm, when the lockdown was lifted.
