Jim Montgomery, head coach of the Boston Bruins NHL club, who played for Salavat Yulaev Ufa when he was a player, said that he was shocked by the toilet he visited in Russia when he returned from one of the matches.
– We were traveling by bus from Magnitogorsk and made a stop. Here (in the USA) fast food outlets operate in such parking lots, and in Russia people set up tables and sell fish. There was a toilet there. I went in, there was only a cement wall and holes in the floor. I don’t know how Andy Dufresne (the character in The Shawshank Redemption) climbed through the sewers. I almost felt sick. No toilet paper, take off your pants and do your thing,” Montgomery said on the podcast. Spittin’ Chiclets.
Montgomery played for Salavat in the 2003/04 season, and since the summer of this year, the 53-year-old specialist has been heading Boston.
