The Kansas City Chiefs ask you to dance! Cheeky action creates a stir in the NFL

Arrogant or creative? The Kansas City Chiefs caused a stir with a dance routine during their win against the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday.

Las Vegas – Arrogant or just creative? The Kansas City Chiefs secured first place in the AFC on Saturday night with a clear 31:13 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders, and superstar Patrick Mahomes (27) also broke a spectacular record. However, one scene in particular made waves on the internet.

With a record of 14 wins and only three losses, KC can no longer be pushed off the top of the table in the American Football Conference and thus save themselves the wild card round of the NFL-Playoffs.

The self-confidence that went with it was already evident in the 2020 champion on the way to triumph.

Before a play in the second quarter, a few yards from the end zone, the players suddenly gathered in a circle, grabbed each other’s shoulders and hopped around before going straight out of the unusual move into formation for the next attack.

What had to follow followed – a trick play! The snap landed on running back Jerick McKinnon (30), who passed it on to quarterback Mahomes, whose pass in turn arrived for a touchdown at wide receiver Kadarius Toney (23).

Unfortunately, the impressive display didn’t end in points. A supposed holding penalty of the O-Line became a downer.

Ultimately, that shouldn’t make any difference, because in the next play Toney simply ran the counters to the Chiefs’ 21:3 lead in the meantime.

Apparently, the circle dance served to confuse the opponent from Nevada and was actually rehearsed.

“That’s what we call the snow globe. Unfortunately it didn’t work out,” said a laughing Mahomes after the game. The campaign then went viral on social networks and has now been viewed several million times.

The 27-year-old playmaker had other reasons to be happy. With 202 passing yards and 29 yards per streak against the Raiders, the 2018 MVP totaled 5,608 yards this season.

He surpassed the previous record of 5,562 yards set by Drew Brees (43) for the New Orleans Saints in 2011. At that time, the teams played one game less.

Even a second record would have been possible for Mahomes, but he would have had to throw 228 more in Las Vegas to break the record for most passing yards in a regular season by Peyton Manning (46).

The QB legend collected a whopping 5,477 throwing yards in MVP year 2013.
