FERMO – Starting from Friday 9 December until Sunday 11, the GB Pergolesi Conservatory hosts the XXVII edition of the International Saxophone Stagean important appointment for professionals and students.
After the last two editions that were held entirely online to accommodate the needs related to the pandemic, the return to the presence represents the first great sign of continuity of a higher education event which year after year is enriched in value and meaning for the participants.
“The International Stage of Saxonono is confirmed as a point of reference for bringing together teachers and students to implement educational exchanges, promote the cultural growth and professional training of young people – declared the Director Nicola Verzina – for our school, being the leader of the internship by virtue of its great value is a source of pride and an incentive to continue on this path”.
Many names from the international music scene that will embellish the three days of the Stage, among these, Grègory Letombeconcert pianist graduated from the prestigious Paris Conservatoire, talented soloist with experience in chamber and orchestral music; Marco Postacchini professor at the Fermo Conservatory and one of the leading figures in the jazz scene will play with the trio formed by Emanuele Evangelista piano, Roberto Gazzani bass, Luca Orselli drums; Naomi Sullivan saxophonist from London and since 2008 Head of Saxophone at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Alessandro Malagninosaxophonist graduated in the class of Maestro Claude Delangle of the prestigious Superior Conservatory of Paris, Marco Gerboniimportant concert performer and teacher at the Conservatory of Music of Ferrara, il Dutch Dokwerk Saxophone Quartet trained in the prestigious class of Arno Borkamp’s Amsterdam Conservatory, the Sonora Junior Sax a spectacular saxophone orchestra with 85 elements from the Campania Region directed by Dominic Luciano. Of particular importance is the presence of prestigious saxophone and accessory companies such as: BG, Buffet Crampon, Proel, Selmer, Vandoren. The piano accompaniment is by Valeria Picardi.

The events scheduled for the International Saxophone Stage will be held at the Teatro dell’Aquila and at the “GBPergolesi” Conservatory with free admission to the concerts.
