They accused a 16-year-old teenager of two homicides

Montgomery. On Saturday, it was reported that two separate murder suspects in Montgomery were captured Friday by the Sheriffs’ Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force. There is included a 16-year-old teenager, who is accused of two of the murders.

The boy was identified as 16-year-old Jody Goodwin. He is charged with two counts of murder for the deaths of two men. One of the murders occurred on December 19 and the other on January 2.

In the first, Montgomery police and firefighters responded to the 4600 block of Virginia Pines Lane in a report of a person shot. Once at the scene, they found Larry Friendly, 40, dead from a gunshot wound.

Then, on January 2, authorities were dispatched to the Peabody Road and Manasse Drive area, also in a report of a person shot. Martrell Williams, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene, making it Montgomery’s first homicide in 2021.

Authorities have not disclosed the circumstances surrounding either of the two killings. However, they indicated that Goodwin was identified as the suspect in both cases. Sheriffs detained him Friday and booked him into the Montgomery County Detention Center.

In addition, the suspect in another December 19 homicide was arrested. Police charged Michael Lewis, 38, with murder for the murder of William Elmore III, 65.

Elmore showed up around 1 pm that Saturday at a hospital with a gunshot wound. Investigators were able to determine that the shooting occurred in the 4100 block of Troy Highway. So, he died on December 29 in the hospital. Lewis is also being held at the Montgomery County Jail.
