Pato O’Ward he conquered the IndyCar Salute to Farmers 300 in Iowa and with this he registered his second victory of the 2022 season.
The Mexican driver stressed that this result comes at the right time of the season.
“This is the perfect time that we need to build momentum for August and September, we’re closing out July next week at the Indianapolis Speedway,” he told NBC.
The man from Monterrey advanced to fifth place in the championship, in the last two months he has been on the podium twice and there are five races left in the year.
O’Ward managed to lead the race after the incident involving Josef Newgarden on lap 232, so he gives credit to the whole team because when the mishap happened they managed to hold on to second place.
“The important thing was to keep us smooth when you go in traffic, in the way you have to drive, The important thing was to be there in position, so that when the time came we could enter the pits”, said the man from Monterrey.
