iger Woods was rushed to hospital and is in surgery after sustaining “serious injuries” to both legs in a traffic accident in California.
However, Los Angeles Fire Department Chief Daryl Osby later clarified that an ax and prying tool had instead been used to free Woods from the wreckage, with the golfing legend suffering “serious injuries. To both legs during the collision.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva told a news conference that “then MPs saw no evidence of disability” in Woods after he arrived at the crash scene in 7:18 am, with Woods “aware and able to communicate”.
Woods’ vehicle moved “several hundred feet from the center splitter”, struck a sidewalk and tree, and sustained “significant damage”. The weather was not a factor in the accident.
Villanueva also said Woods survived “what would otherwise have been a fatal crash” because the interior of his vehicle – a Genesis 2021 midsize SUV – remained “thankfully more or less intact.”
