Today is Friday December 30 and these are the main news of the day:
1.- They arrested and extradited to South Florida a man accused of drugging, trafficking and prostituting his girlfriend. This is Monriko Mequel Clements, 31, a rapper from Maryland. In November, the suspect fled to another state after the victim jumped from a moving vehicle on the Dolphin Expressway.
2.- A man who had several arrest warrants in Texas was arrested in Fort Lauderdale. David Morales, 27, was wanted for assaulting a relative and for assaulting a police officer, from whom he allegedly took the weapon. Two hours before the arrest, the police had received a call alerting to the subject’s presence.
3.- After more than 70 days some of the Cubans who remained detained in an ICE center in Broward were released. They were reunited with their relatives, who spent weeks protesting in front of the detention center because they feared for their lives, in case they were returned to Cuba. This, due to the disclosure of personal data made by mistake by the Department of Homeland Security.
4.- If you are going to travel through the Miami International Airport, you are advised not to bring your car since all the parking lots are at maximum capacity. For this reason, authorities recommend that you find someone to drive you and drop you off, or take a taxi, Uber or Lyft, or take the orange line of the Metrorail.
5.- A stray dog is in critical condition and needs help, as it suffered a gunshot wound to the face. The dog was taken to Knowles Animal Hospital, where they will have to undergo expensive surgery to remove the bullet.
