Today is Monday, January 2 and these are the main news of the day:
1.- We begin with a tragedy that occurred early this New Year on I-95 north., in which three people lost their lives. A runaway Nissan Altima crashed into a Dodge Challenger and burst into flames, hitting a tree. Two other victims were ejected from the vehicle and were admitted in critical condition to Jackson Memorial Hospital. This happened at the height of 95th street.
2.- A man barricaded himself in a house located at 2700 11th Place in Northwest Broward and kept the authorities in suspense. The police arrived this Sunday at the place, where a dispute between neighbors had been reported. A woman told officers that a resident had pulled out a gun. The man barricaded himself and finally police negotiators managed to get him out and arrested.
3.- The authorities are looking for those responsible for opening fire on the I-95 highway, where a Maserati vehicle that A woman was driving received more than 30 bullet wounds. The Florida Highway Patrol says someone from a white sedan fired shots from the driver’s side. The woman survived, although she sustained injuries to the left side of her body. She was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
4.- Border Patrol found more than 160 migrants in the Florida Keys in the early hours of this new year. The coast guard reported that after midnight there was the arrival of ten boats. Although no information has been given on the nationality of the rafters, from the photos of the boats everything seems to indicate that they are Cuban migrants.
5. The first babies born this year in South Florida They are Liaxandra Dolne, who weighed 5 pounds, 13 ounces and was born at exactly 12 midnight at Broward Health Hospital in Coral Springs. Just five minutes later, at Baptist Health in Homestead, Dima was born. He came into the world at 12:05 am and weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces. Ella congratulations to her parents and enjoy her babies.
