Tornado in Alabama: at least 6 dead

The emergency services of the American state of Alabama indicated that at least six people died Thursday January 12 during the passage of a tornado.

The six people killed were located in Autauga County, the county’s assistant director of emergency services said. A state of emergency was declared in this county and five others by the governor ofAlabamaKay Ivey.

The city of Selma, in Dallas County, also in the state of emergency, suffered “significant damage“, according to the town hall.

It really did a lot of damage. It’s the worst I’ve seen here in this county“said the director of emergency management.
