Turner and Haliburton lead Pacers to beat Hornets | Sports

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (AP) — Myles Turner scored 29 points, Buddy Hield had 21 and the Indiana Pacers rallied Sunday to cap the first half of their regular-season schedule with a 116-111 victory over the Charlotte Hornets.

Tyrese Haliburton had 16 points, 13 assists and five rebounds for the Pacers, who trailed by nine points to start the fourth quarter and needed a series of key plays to improve to 23-18 at halftime.

PJ Washington had 22 points and five rebounds for the Hornets. Terry Rozier had 19 points and six rebounds, and Mason Plumlee added 18 points and 13 rebounds.

Plumlee attempted a dunk with 13 seconds left that would have brought Charlotte within a point, but Turner blocked her attempt, sending the fans into a frenzy. The 26-year-old rising star finished with nine rebounds and four blocks. His three-pointer from three had tied the game with 1:11 left.

Two Aaron Nesmith free throws made it 116-111 with 6.9 seconds left and clinched Indiana’s eighth win in the last 10 games.
