US: Pandemic leaves immigrants homeless

Unemployment among Hispanic immigrants, regardless of their immigration status, has doubled in the United States, from 4.8% in January 2020 to 8.8% in February this year, according to the Migration Policy Institute. Activists and social workers in states like New York or California say that the most vulnerable immigrants, who do not usually qualify for public financial aid, are sometimes homeless.
