NOGALES, SON.- While in Sonora the first vaccines are just beginning to arrive for health personnel who face Covid-19 in hospitals, in the neighbor Santa Cruz County, Arizona, the first group of ordinary citizens you can now schedule your appointment to be immunized.
The people of 75 years or older can now get vaccinatedaccording to the county’s announcement Monday night.
The county is currently in the phase 1B of the vaccine, in which an estimated 10,000 local residents are eligible for the vaccine.
Because of these large numbers, the Mariposa County Health Services Department and Community Health Center in Nogales, Arizona began the phase by focusing on the law enforcement officers, as well as in health workers who had not yet been vaccinated as part of group 1A.
Now, people 75 and older have been added to the mixaccording to the news bulletin issued by the county shortly after 8 p.m. Monday.
The county has yet to launch an online vaccine registration system. Instead, Group 1A and 1B members who are now eligible can schedule an appointment for vaccines by emailing email@example.com or by calling (520) 375-7626. The phone lines will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, depending on the county.
A full name, date of birth, address, and phone number are required to make the appointment. Unanswered emails and phone calls are expected to be returned within 24 hours.
“More information on vaccine eligibility and the vaccine distribution process will be shared for the remaining populations in phase 1B and 1C as soon as it is available.”the county news release said.
